Coyote Information and Resources

Coyote Sighting Resources

Public education to sponsor educated coexistence and reduce the fear of the unknown is the overall goal of this program.

Please do not feed our wildlife in Galveston.

Do not encourage any coyote or other wild animal to come closer to humans. Give them space and encourage their natural fear of humans. This natural fear of humans will keep the animals and the community safer. “Go Away Coyote“

REPORT COYOTE SIGHTINGS WHEN AND WHERE THEY OCCUR

The City of Galveston's Animal Services Unit and Geographic Information System division have teamed up to create a coyote sighting tool to provide animal services officers and residents more information about the island's coyote population.

This public reporting form allows residents to report when and where coyotes are spotted in their neighborhoods. The information is then sent to the Animal Services Unit and made available online as a resource for residents. This tool may help residents by raising awareness and encouraging them to keep their small pets protected.
